Prince Philip’s Life And Style, Told Through Pictures

Photos that show the Duke Of Edinburgh always had a strong sense of style, whether on official occasions or hanging out with the Beatles.
|

Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 99. He was the oldest-ever male member of the British royal family and had retired from public life at age 96.

When it comes to style recognition, Philip, who was best known for his one-liners, often took a back seat to his wife or younger British royals like the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

But just like his wife, Philip has always had a strong sense of style, whether on official occasions, during polo matches or, you know, hanging out with the Beatles. He was named one of GQ UK’s best-dressed men in Britain in 2014, but his dapper days go way further back.

We have plenty of opportunities to both honor him and take style major style inspiration from his life by way of these amazing vintage photos. Check out 32 of our favorite looks below.
