Priscilla Presley has confirmed she’s caring for her twin granddaughters while Michael Lockwood — her daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s estranged husband and the girls’ father — is investigated for allegations of child abuse.
“There is Lots of confusion, commotion and concern from all the talk circulating. Let me put this to rest... the girls have not been in foster care and never will be. The girls have been with me and will be until all this is sorted out,” Priscilla wrote on her Facebook page on Sunday. She also posted a photo of 8-year-old twins Finley and Harper.
Previously, it was reported that the twins had been placed in protective custody by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services after their mother claimed to have found “disturbing” images and videos of children on their father’s computer.
In court papers pertaining to Lisa Marie’s divorce from Lockwood, the 49-year-old singer claimed her estranged husband was under investigation for said images.
According to People magazine, Beverly Hills police confirmed that they received child abuse allegations involving the Presleys this summer and seized “several items” at their residence. However, they did not specify against whom the claims were made. Police said the case has since been turned over to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, who told People that they were still investigating the allegations, but have yet to open an official case.
Meanwhile, Lockwood’s lawyer has denied the allegations to People, calling the claims, “highly sensational, inaccurate and unproven.”
Lisa Marie and Lockwood married in 2006 and welcomed their twins in October 2008. When Lisa Marie filed for divorce from Lockwood in June 2016, she asked for full custody of the girls and sought monitored visitations only for Lockwood.
