Ukrainian defenders are continuing the fight in Bakhmut despite Russian forces claiming victory there after the longest, deadliest battle of the war so far.
If Bakhmut fell to Russian forces, their president, Vladimir Putin, would “sell this victory to the West, to his society, to China, to Iran,” Zelenskyy said.
