Scott Peterson's family wants a handout to appeal their son's murder case. Peterson was convicted in 2005 for the murder of his wife Laci and unborn son Conner. He's now sitting on death row in California's San Quentin prison.

Peterson's family's blog "Journey to Justice" highlights why they're asking for money:

We have some GOOD NEWS we want to share with you. The California Supreme Court has appointed Cliff Gardner as Scott's appellate attorney. As you may recall, our family retained attorneys Cliff Gardner and Larry Gibbs in March of 2005 to begin work on the habeas (investigation) petition for Scott's case. All aspects of Scott's appeal can now move forward.

One person that likely won't be joining the family donation drive is Scott's sister, Anne Bird, who told the Today Show that she believed her brother was guilty of murder.

Take our poll and let us know what you think about Peterson's latest attempt to exonerate himself.
