The WNBA All-Star has been detained for over five months in Russia after officials allegedly found hashish oil and vape cartridges in her luggage.
“She truly is terrified that she may never see us again,” Cherelle Griner said of the WNBA star. “I share those same sentiments.”
Cherelle and Brittney Griner have not spoken by phone in the four months since the basketball star's arrest in Russia, where she remains jailed.
"She’s a political pawn,” Cherelle Griner told ABC's "Good Morning America." “So if they’re holding her because they want you to do something, then I want you to do it.”
