LOADINGERROR LOADING

Voters in 16 states and one U.S. territory head to the polls this Super Tuesday to cast ballots in the 2024 presidential primary race and other contests.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump hope to have large delegate hauls on Tuesday, though neither will have enough to clinch their nominations yet. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley is still in the race against Trump for the Republican nomination, despite only getting her first primary win on Sunday, in the District of Columbia.

American Samoa and the following states will hear from voters: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia. Iowa will release the results of its mail-in Democratic caucus.

The first polls will close at 7 p.m. EST.

More On Dean Phillips Leaving The Race

Rep. Dean Phillips, a Minnesota Democrat, withdrew from the Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday, ending the last significant primary challenge against President Joe Biden.

Phillips broke the news on The Chad Hartman Show, a Twin Cities radio show.

Phillips announced on Feb. 16 that he was laying off the vast majority of his campaign staff, after lackluster fundraising had created a cash crunch. He also canceled a scheduled event in Michigan on Feb. 18.

Dean Phillips Suspends Campaign, Endorses Joe Biden

Longshot Democratic presidential candidate Dean Phillips announced Wednesday morning he is suspending his campaign.

He also endorsed Biden and encouraged his supporters to back the incumbent president.

"Today, in light of the stark reality we face, I ask you join me in mobilizing, energizing, and doing everything you can to help keep a man of decency and integrity in the White House. That's Joe Biden," Phillips wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Let's use invitation, not confrontation, to welcome Haley supporters, Trump supporters, and Uncommitted supporters to get this done."

Trump Fundraising Email Touts Haley Endorsement He Didn't Get

Haley didn't endorse Trump after dropping out of the presidential race Wednesday. In fact, she made a point of not doing so, arguing that Trump needs to make an effort to woo the segment of voters who backed her campaign.

But that didn't stop Trump from claiming she had. Trump's campaign sent a fundraising email Wednesday with the subject line: "BREAKING: Nikki Haley endorses me." Haley was mentioned only once in the rest of the email:

"Nikki Haley drops out!

It was a hard-fought race, but now it’s time for us TO UNITE AS A PARTY AND DEFEAT JOE BIDEN!

If we’re going to WIN BACK THE WHITE HOUSE, it will be all because of what you do right here, right now."

McConnell Endorses Trump

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell endorsed Trump for the GOP presidential nomination shortly after Haley dropped out.

“It is abundantly clear that former President Trump has earned the requisite support of Republican voters to be our nominee for President of the United States,” McConnell said in a statement. “It should come as no surprise that as nominee, he will have my support."

McConnell last week announced he was stepping down as GOP Senate leader in November.

Biden Reacts To Haley Dropping Out

Biden appeared to praise Haley for having the courage to compete against Trump in the GOP primary for as long as she did, despite the former president's solid hold on the Republican Party.

In a statement issued following Haley's exit speech, Biden also made an appeal to her voters.

“Donald Trump made it clear he doesn’t want Nikki Haley’s supporters. I want to be clear: There is a place for them in my campaign," Biden said. "I know there is a lot we won’t agree on. But on the fundamental issues of preserving American democracy, on standing up for the rule of law, on treating each other with decency and dignity and respect, on preserving NATO and standing up to America’s adversaries, I hope and believe we can find common ground."

Trump Reacts To Haley Exiting The Race

Trump posted a screed on Truth Social just minutes before Haley began her speech suspending her presidential campaign.

"Nikki Haley got TROUNCED last night, in record setting fashion, despite the fact that Democrats, for reasons unknown, are allowed to vote in Vermont, and various other Republican Primaries. Much of her money came from Radical Left Democrats, as did many of her voters, almost 50%, according to the polls. At this point, I hope she stays in the “race” and fights it out until the end! I’d like to thank my family, friends, and the Great Republican Party for helping me to produce, by far, the most successful Super Tuesday in HISTORY, and would further like to invite all of the Haley supporters to join the greatest movement in the history of our Nation. BIDEN IS THE ENEMY, HE IS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

'It Is Beyond Time' For Haley To Drop Out: Trump Campaign

Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for Trump's campaign, offered her reaction to the reports of Haley dropping out of the GOP primary but not immediately planning to endorse Trump.

“We hope that she will endorse President Trump considering again voters in states across this country have made their choice very clear," Leavitt told Fox Business' "Mornings with Maria."

"It is beyond time for Nikki Haley to get out of this race and to unify around the president. He has been saying this for weeks, really for months. And so we encourage her to do just that, to adhere to the will of Republican voters," Leavitt continued.

PAC: Trump 'Vanquishing His Opponents'

A Trump-supporting Super PAC, Make America Great Again Inc., alluded to Hayley dropping out of the race in a statement congratulating the former president.

“Congratulations to President Donald Trump for vanquishing his opponents in record time. The same movement that powered President Trump to a primary victory will power him to a general election victory. Voters are eager to have the prosperity and safety of the Trump presidency restored," wrote spokesman Taylor Budowich.

The group is one of the PACs who have been paying Trump's legal bills, according to a HuffPost analysis in January.

Trump Fan Goes Full Misogynist On Haley

NBC News' Shaquille Brewster had a simple question for a Trump voter he interviewed in North Carolina.

"What do you think of Nikki Haley? Did you ever consider her?" Brewster asked.

The Trump fan — identified as Emmett Martin — had a response so vile that he was hesitant to say it in front of news cameras.
"What I got to say, you don't really want to put it on."

Haley Set To End Presidential Campaign

Haley will announce today in Charleston, S.C., that she is ending her Republican presidential campaign, several media outlets reported.

Notably, she won't announce an endorsement today, according to Wall Street Journal sources. Instead she will "encourage" Trump "to earn the support of Republican and independent voters who backed her."

Biden Campaign Memo Calls Trump 'Wounded, Dangerous And Unpopular'

A memo circulated by Biden's presidential campaign this morning calledTrump a "wounded, dangerous, and unpopular candidate," despite Trump's strong performance on Super Tuesday.

The former president "is cash-strapped, beleaguered by a host of external issues, and is running on an extreme agenda that is already proving to be a significant liability for key voting blocs that are critical to the pathway to 270 electoral votes," Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon and campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez wrote.

The memo adds that while the general election will be "very close," Biden has a "clear path to victory."

Democrat Who Scored Win Against Biden Has A Message For The President

Jason Palmer, the candidate who defeated Biden in the American Samoa Democratic caucus, urged the 81-year-old president to "pass the torch to the next generation of Americans."

"There's many younger people who are ready to take that torch, who are great leaders in our party, and make sure that Donald Trump doesn't win this November," he told CNN's Laura Coates.

Palmer floated himself and governors Gretchen Whitmer (Mich.), Jared Polis (Colo.) and Gavin Newsom (Calif.) as Democrats who could take over from Biden.

Palmer added that Republicans "are out in full force," noting that Democrats need to campaign equally forcefully to avoid Trump's return to the White House.

"When people say we're going to be sleepwalking into a Trump election it's for real," he said. "So I'm running to energize young voters and also center-left, center-right people with a positive vision of what we can do in the next four years. If Joe Biden's just talking about Donald Trump and he's just talking about foreign policy and foreign wars, that's not going to win in November. You got to have a clear, positive agenda."

'Stop Making Up Election Fanfic'

"Late Show" host Stephen Colbert dismissed a new poll showing 50% of respondents believe Democrats will replace Biden with another candidate in the upcoming presidential race.

“No! No they won’t,” he said. “It’s Trump versus Biden. Stop making up election fanfic.”

Ken Paxton's Texas Revenge Tour Rolls On

Republican Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan will be headed to a runoff against challenger David Covey, as state Attorney General Ken Paxton continues his campaign to oust those who voted to impeach him.

Paxton was acquitted of corruption and abuse in a Texas Senate trial in 2023. He blames Phelan for leading the effort to drive him out of office.

"Let this runoff be a rallying cry for all conservatives across Texas," Paxton said. "The battle lines are drawn, and our resolve has never been stronger."

Voters Split On Newsom-Backed Ballot Measure

Californian voters were split on Proposition 1, a measure touted by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) to boost investment in housing and substance abuse programs to help tackle homelessness in the state.

Opponents are concerned the measure would divert funding from other programs that they say are preventing people from becoming homeless in the first place.

Trump Ally Advances in Texas

Katrina Pierson, a former spokesperson for Trump, has advanced to a runoff election against incumbent Texas state Rep. Justin Holland (R) in Texas House District 33, just outside Dallas.

The runoff for the Texas House seat is scheduled for May 28.

Holland was challenged after voting for impeachment for Trump ally Ken Paxton, the state attorney general who was acquitted of corruption and abuse of office allegations in a Texas Senate trial. Paxton has set out on a revenge campaign to get rid of GOP lawmakers who voted for his impeachment.

Joe Biden Won Big On Tuesday, But So Did ‘Uncommitted’

Tens of thousands at the polls voiced their discontent with the White House’s policy in Gaza on Tuesday night, voting for “uncommitted” in the Democratic nominating contests.

The movement began as a means to urge the president to shift the country’s strategy and call for an immediate cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. As the polls closed, those efforts had taken off.

In Minnesota, nearly 45,000 people voted for “uncommitted, or about 19% of the vote. And in Michigan, more than 100,000 voters, or 13% of Democrats who voted in the primary, had cast their ballots for “uncommitted.”

Nikki Haley Camp Says Large Bloc Of Voters Still Have ‘Deep Concerns’ About Trump

Haley’s campaign cheered her showing in a statement on Tuesday night, saying there remained a large number of voters dissatisfied with Trump.

"We’re honored to have received the support of millions of Americans across the country today, including in Vermont where Nikki became the first Republican woman to win two presidential primary contests,” Haley spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas said in a statement. “Unity is not achieved by simply claiming 'we’re united.’”

“Today, in state after state, there remains a large block of Republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about Donald Trump.”

California's Senate Race Is Set: Adam Schiff vs. Steve Garvey

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is projected to advance in California’s top-two “jungle” primary contest, putting one of Donald Trump’s biggest antagonists in the House in a commanding position to win the seat previously occupied by the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

He's set to face Republican Steve Garvey, who is projected to take second place in Tuesday's primary. Garvey, a 75-year-old former professional baseball player and first-time political candidate, has spent barely any money on his own behalf, relying instead on a polling boost from Schiff’s ads.

Kamala Harris Warns Voters Of What's At Stake With A Trump Presidency: ‘He Must Be Stopped’

In a statement Tuesday night, Vice President Kamala Harris encouraged voters to stand with her and Joe Biden to “protect our fundamental freedoms,” warning about what could be lost under a second Trump presidency.

"As we continue to watch results come in from states across the country, including my home state of California, this is an energizing moment for our campaign," Harris said. "Americans of all backgrounds are showing that they sense the urgency of this election and that they are ready to stand with President Biden and me in this fight to protect our fundamental freedoms."

She continued: "Donald Trump has vowed to be a dictator on Day One. He has promised to weaponize the Department of Justice. And he has bragged that he is proud of his role in robbing women of their reproductive freedom. He poses a fundamental threat to our democracy, and he must be stopped.

Donald Trump Won In Almost Every State Tonight, By A Lot.

Haley may have won an unexpected victory in Vermont tonight, but in almost every other state, Trump dominated.

The former president is commanding margins of 30, 40 and even more than 50 percentage points over Haley as votes come in. In Texas, one of the biggest prizes of the night, Trump was leading Haley by nearly 60 percentage points.

Those victories equate to delegates for Trump as most Republican contests simply award all of theirs to whichever candidate wins the majority of the vote.

Donald Trump Has Effectively Clinched The Nomination

Trump has effectively clinched the GOP nomination for president for the third straight cycle, meaning Republicans could well have a convicted felon at the top of their ticket heading into the November election.

Late Tuesday, Trump had won 11 contests of the 16 taking place across the country to Haley’s one, in Vermont.

Though Trump still needs to win 1,215 delegates to become the presumptive nominee, that task now appears to be little more than a formality and will likely take place either next week or the week after.

DNC Says Democrats Came Out To ‘Defend Our Democracy’ Tonight

The Democratic National Committee praised voters for joining “the battle to defend our democracy” in tonight’s elections and emphasized the importance of them doing so again later this year.

“This November will be a choice between Democrats who are focused on delivering for the American people and MAGA extremism led by Donald Trump, who is running a campaign of revenge and retribution,” the DNC said in a statement. “Time and again, the American people choose unity over hate, democracy over authoritarianism, and hope over fear – and they are ready to do it again this November.”

Live Updates On California's Senate Race

In addition to voting in the presidential primary, voters in California are also deciding who will replace the late Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

California has a top-two primary system, in which the two leading candidates after Tuesday's contest will advance to the general election in November regardless of party affiliation. Rep. Adam Schiff, a Democrat, is expected to easily secure one of those spots. His closest competitor in the polls has been Republican Steve Garvey, a former baseball star, but two of Schiff's Democratic colleagues in the House — Katie Porter and Barbara Lee — are also vying for a top-two finish.

Joe Biden Says Americans Have A 'Clear Choice'

As Donald Trump gave his speech in Mar-a-Lago, Joe Biden’s campaign released a statement about Tuesday's election results so far, warning voters about the inevitable “chaos” that would follow under another Trump presidency.

“Tonight’s results leave the American people with a clear choice: Are we going to keep moving forward or will we allow Donald Trump to drag us backwards into the chaos, division, and darkness that defined his term in office?" the statement reads.

"Today, millions of voters across the country made their voices heard — showing that they are ready to fight back against Donald Trump’s extreme plan to take us backwards."

Donald Trump Doesn’t Have Much To Say About Tonight

Trump never mentioned Haley and instead spend much of his speech rehashing key moments from his presidency and past campaigns, including his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, his foreign policy positions and his victory over Hillary Clinton in 2016.

“We're going to take back our country,” Trump said. “We're going to make sure. We are going to do it right.”

Weeks After Embryo Ruling, Alabama Judge Wins Chief Justice Nomination

The Associated Press reports Alabama Supreme Court Justice Sarah Stewart, who was part of a court majority that ruled frozen embryos are considered children under a state law, has won the Republican nomination for Alabama chief justice.

The ruling treats an embryo the same as a child or gestating fetus under the state’s wrongful death statute, and has raised concerns about civil liabilities for clinics. Three major providers announced a pause on IVF services. In response, Alabama lawmakers have proposed lawsuit protections for clinics to try and get them back open.

Donald Trump Celebrates Super Tuesday Victories

Trump began speaking to a crowd of his supporters after claiming victory in nearly a dozen states tonight.

“They call it Super Tuesday for a reason,” the former president said from Mar-a-Lago.

Though the night was essentially face-off between him and Haley, Trump didn’t acknowledge her in the first few minutes of his speech, instead keeping his focus on Biden, the likely Democratic nominee.

“He's the worst president in the history of our country,” Trump said.

Karl Rove And His Whiteboard Continue To Haunt Trump

Donald Trump has long had an issue with Karl Rove, the onetime political mastermind behind the rise of George W. Bush and now an on-air analyst with Fox News. And Rove’s take on Trump’s Super Tuesday performance again showed why.

“The high command of Team Trump ought to be concerned about unifying the Republican Party,” Rove warned Tuesday night on Fox, citing the portions of non-Trump votes in the Republican primary states. (At the time, they ranged from 48% in Vermont to 23% in North Carolina.)

“There’s still some work to be done to unify the Republican Party, and that’s going to depend a lot on his tone tonight and whether or not he stops doing things like calling [Haley] 'birdbrain' and threatening that if you give money to her campaign you're going to be permanently banned,” Rove said.

Trump’s feed on his own social media site Tuesday night was simply a list of states he had — as expected — won handily, with pictures of him superimposed over the state flags. But Trump has complained about Haley bragging after previous primary contests, despite losing (a streak that ended over the weekend with a win in the District of Columbia’s GOP primary), and he has downplayed whether she represents in part a Never Trump protest vote.

Before before polls had begun to close, Trump had already started to complain about Fox’s coverage and another analyst, Marc Thiessen.

But that social media rant ended on a Rovian note. “And while you’re at it, GET RID OF KARL ROVE!!!” he wrote.

What The— Nikki Haley Is Neck And Neck With Trump In Vermont?

It's too soon to make sense of what is happening here, but at this moment, Nikki Haley is neck and neck with Donald Trump in the Vermont GOP primary.

This is with 55% of reporting in, which means there's still plenty more votes to count. But it's still surprising to see Haley in play at this level — and Trump facing a real challenge in any state Republican primary. To date, Haley has only defeated Trump in one GOP primary, in the District of Columbia.

Whichever one of them wins Vermont will get 17 delegates. If Haley manages to pull it out, she will still be nowhere near surpassing Trump's delegate count. But if she wins here, she will be able to walk away with the satisfaction of knowing that somewhere in Florida, the former president is furious that he lost.

Feel Left Out Of Super Tuesday? Here’s How To Register To Vote.

While Super Tuesday is the biggest single day of the presidential nominating process, many states still have their contests in the coming weeks. And even if your state has already had its primary or caucus, there’s plenty of time to register for the general election later this year.

You can check your registration status at Vote.gov and register if you’re not. If you’ve moved since the last election in your area, you’ll need to update your details. Every state has different deadlines to do so.

For Americans abroad, the Federal Voting Assistance Program can help sort you out.

Exit Polls: Haley’s Voters Aren’t Your Typical Republicans

The exit polls in both Virginia and North Carolina have some clear indications the voters making up Haley’s coalition are out of step with the rest of the GOP in key ways — those that are members of the GOP at all.

Among voters in Virginia, 52% of GOP primary voters said Trump would be fit to serve as president even if he was convicted of a crime. Trump won those voters by a 92% to 7% margin. In North Carolina, 63% of GOP primary voters thought the same, and Trump won them by an 89% to 8% margin. His lead with these voters propelled him to victory in both states’ primaries.

Haley, however, dominated among the minority of GOP voters who thought Trump would not be fit as president: she won them 86% to 12% in Virginia, and 65% to 25% in North Carolina.

There were other signs Haley benefited from her voters’ relative moderation: She won the one-third minority of voters who believe undocumented immigrants should be allowed to apply for legal status rather than be deported in both states. Hardline immigration positions are core to the modern GOP.

In particular, Haley’s margin benefited from Virginia’s open primaries. Self-identified Democrats were 11% of the voters in Virginia, and voted for her by a 90% to 8% margin. Independents were another 30% of the electorate, and Haley won them by a tighter 57% to 41% margin. But Trump’s 75% to 23% lead among the Republicans who made up a majority of the electorate was far too much to overcome.

Elon Musk Urges Employees, Public To Give Progressive Austin DA The Boot

Conservative billionaire Elon Musk reportedly emailed his Tesla employees on Tuesday urging them to vote out Travis County District Attorney Jose Garza, a progressive Democrat in Texas, in favor of his preferred candidate, Jeremy Sylestine, a moderate from the same party. He wrote that it was “high time for change throughout the world,” Bloomberg reported, and that voters should choose the candidate who will “actually prosecute crimes.”

Musk sent a similar missive to his 175 million followers on X, formerly Twitter.

Garza has faced criticism for the number of felony crimes his office has declined to prosecute since taking office. But Garza partly credits that to a backlog stemming from the pandemic, and maintains that his statistics are relatively in line with the prior district attorney.

Musk moved Tesla’s headquarters to Austin, Texas, in 2020.

Meanwhile, In Space…

Being hundreds of miles above Earth didn’t stop two NASA astronauts from doing their celestial civic duty on Super Tuesday.

Jasmin Moghbeli published a post on X, formerly Twitter, confirming that she and fellow astronaut Loral O’Hara had cast their ballots. The post included two photos of the women smiling and pointing at what appear to be patches of the American flag at the International Space Station.

“Being in space didn’t stop [O’Hara] and I from voting,” Moghbeli wrote. “Go vote today!”

According to NASA, an electronic absentee ballot filled out by an astronaut goes through a tracking and data relay satellite down to a ground antenna at New Mexico’s White Sands Complex. There, the ballot is sent to Houston’s Mission Control Center, where it’s forwarded to the county clerk’s office.

Donald Trump Throws Support Behind Israel After Months Of Silence On Gaza

Earlier this morning, Trump said that Israeli forces in Gaza have to “finish the job,” after months of staying silent on the growing humanitarian catastrophe.

The former president was asked by “Fox & Friends” if he was “on board” with the way Israel has been carrying out its retaliation for Hamas militants’ Oct. 7 attack.

“You’ve got to finish the problem,” Trump said, dodging subsequent questions about his stances on Israel and instead repeating that the attack would not have happened were he president.

Trump had won Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s favor during his administration and the 2020 election after the then-president enacted measures like moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and cutting Palestinians out of negotiations over the Abraham Accords. Their relationship appeared to sour after Netanyahu congratulated Biden for his win.

Before Tuesday, the last time Trump spoke about the situation between Israel and Hamas was just days after the attack. At that time, the candidate disparaged Netanyahu and Israeli military officials while praising the Iran-backed militia group Hezbollah.

How Many Delegates Are Up For Grabs Tonight? A Lot.

Tonight’s a big night when it comes to delegates: More than one-third of all available for both the Republican and Democratic presidential primaries will be awarded from Super Tuesday.

For the GOP, 854 of the total 2,429 will be allotted to candidates. Democrats will award some 1,420.

The parties have different rules, however. Many Republican states simply award all of their delegates to whichever candidate wins a majority of the primary vote, meaning frontrunners can quickly surge ahead in the tally. Democrats, however, award their delegates proportionally, which can give smaller candidates some momentum in the race.

Trump needs 971 more to clinch the majority of delegates needed to (officially) become the party’s presumptive nominee. The earliest that could happen is next week.

Michelle Obama’s Office Confirms She Isn’t Running For Presidency

The office of former First Lady Michelle Obama confirmed to NBC News on Tuesday that she will not be putting in a presidential bid for the 2024 election.
“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” Crystal Carson, director of communications for her office, told the outlet.

“Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.”
The news follows speculation that she might run as a replacement of President Joe Biden and an adept opponent of former President Donald Trump, despite her disdain for politics.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s Big Super Tuesday Announcement

As millions of Americans head to the polls today, one senator revealed she’s shaking up another upcoming election.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) announced today she won’t be seeking reelection in November, meaning that Democratic Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego is set for a one-on-one race against Kari Lake, the likely Republican candidate.

“Because I choose civility, understanding, listening, working together to get stuff done, I will leave the Senate at the end of this year,” Sinema said in a video released by her office.

Lake, an election denier, said in a statement Tuesday that she and Sinema “may not agree on everything” but that she respected her for having “the courage to stand tall against the Far-Left in defense of the filibuster—despite the overwhelming pressure from the radicals in her party like Ruben Gallego who called on her to burn it all down.”

Donald Trump Replays Long List Of Endorsements

Trump reminded voters who he wants them to pick by “ReTruthing” his many endorsements on Truth Social, the platform he founded after being kicked off the biggest social media sites in 2021.

Among them are Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas), whose pill-dispensing habits during his time heading up the White House Medical Unit were the subject of a recent, scathing Pentagon watchdog report.

Trump also previously endorsed Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), the scandal-prone lawmaker striving to impeach Biden, but she was not among those whose endorsements he reposted on Tuesday.

Why We're Worse Off This Election Year

To say journalism has had a tough year would be an understatement.

On the most recent episode of “I Know That’s Right,” HuffPost deputy front page editor and social media’s favorite news curator Phil Lewis noted that a big concern is audiences getting credible news about communities that typically go under-covered.

Nikki Haley Defends Her Decision To Stay In Primary

Haley defended her decision to stay in the race despite having only scored one win against Trump in the primary so far.

"I don't know why everybody's so adamant that they have to follow Trump's lead to get me out of this race," she told Fox News. "You know, all of these people deserve to vote. Sixteen states want to have their voices heard. Let's let their voices get heard."

The former South Carolina governor added that there are plenty of voters out there who want an alternative to Trump and President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

"We don't anoint kings in America," she said. "We let people have choices and so many people said they wanted someone to vote for because they think it's a terrible mistake that we're going with two candidates in their eighties that can't serve eight years."

Haley also dismissed speculation that she could potentially lead a third-party ticket for the centrist political group No Labels, saying she is lifelong conservative Republican.

"I have said many, many times I would not run as an independent," she said.

Taylor Swift Reminds Fans To Go Vote

Pop superstar Taylor Swift encouraged her fans to vote Tuesday, writing in an Instagram Stories post that today is the presidential primary in Tennessee and 16 other states and territories.

Swift's name was dragged though conservative circles earlier this year as right-wingers tried to convince each other that Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, were in cahoots with Biden to throw the election for the Democrats. The dramatic endorsement the right-wingers feared at the Super Bowl failed to materialize.

Progressives Expect Defeat In One Of The Country's Bluest States

Rep. Adam Schiff, a more moderate Democrat, and Republican Steven Garvey are expected to be the two candidates to emerge victorious from California's nonpartisan primary for the U.S. Senate seat previously held by late Sen. Diane Feinstein.

The likely outcome will spell disappointment for progressives in the state and nationally, with many blaming the expected result on the inability of the left to coalesce around a single candidate in contested primaries.

Brian Kemp Weighs In On Whether Nikki Haley Should Drop Out Of GOP Primary

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) was asked Tuesday whether Haley should drop out of the GOP presidential primary as Trump remains the front-runner in the race.

"She's still still raising really good money," Kemp said during an event hosted by Punchbowl News.

Haley has repeatedly pledged to continue her campaign until at least Super Tuesday.

Kemp also appeared to criticize the Republican National Committee for wanting to hand Trump the nomination before voters from more states were given a chance to have their say.

"That's not really how the process should work," he said.
