Mel Brooks Jokingly Tried To Pull Down President Obama's Pants

Comic legend was awarded National Medal of Arts.

Mel Brooks just can’t resist the opportunity for a prank.

The comic legend drew big laughs as he pretended to pull down President Barack Obama’s pants at a White House ceremony on Thursday.

The moment came in the East Room just after the president placed the National Medal of Arts around the 90-year old writer, actor, producer and director’s neck:

That wasn’t the only distinctly Brooks-ian moment of the event.

Prior to the ceremony, the United States Marine Corps Band treated the audience to “Springtime For Hitler,” the tune at the heart of Brooks’ “The Producers.”

Brooks was among 23 honored with medals for arts and humanities. USA Today has the complete list of honorees.
