CNN Political Analyst Slams Trump’s ‘Incredibly Sexist’ Salad Joke

Joan Walsh chastised the president for insinuating that women are "here to make salads for men."

CNN’s Erin Burnett and Joan Walsh have slammed President Donald Trump for joking about buying the Clemson University football team burgers rather than having First Lady Melania Trump make “little quick salads.”

“It seems to me like the president will not be happy until there is not one single female Republican voter in the country. It’s incredibly sexist,” political analyst Walsh said. “He shouldn’t talk about the first lady in that way. We aren’t all here to make salads for men.”

“This is one of those things where sometimes what people say when they’re being funny exposes exactly who they are and what they think. Not that there’s any question, but this is pretty clear,” host Burnett added.

The president’s comments were polarizing (much like his underwhelming menu), with conservative commentator Scott Jennings disagreeing with the two women.

“I think he was trying to make a joke about feeding hamburgers to football players. I think you might be over-reading this one,” he said.
